south bend clutches
I've got one in my truck and I really like it, but it just started slipping under high loads of the engine. (Edge turned up and the water/meth on) The clutch was on the truck when I bought it, so I don't know how it was treated before I got the truck. It has always been smooth and the pedal pressure is great. I like the clutch and company enough that I'm going to put in a new south bend double disc real shortly. (just waiting for it to come in so I can drop the tranny) The one I have now works just fine as long as I'm not on it hard.
thanx for your e mail ROoster31. well i bought the mu 1947 con ofe 450 hp 1000 ft/lb of torque model . all though i didn't see it , the service manager said it looked like a real heavy duty clutch. he liked the look of it and the price that he was going to recommend it to other people who needed clutches. so far i like it but i only have about a 150 km's on it.
turns out the service manager was an old friend of mine. i had to get some warranty work done and was wondering if i was going to have problems getting everything covered, but they did and even found a u-joint that was bad and replaced it. so all in all my first trip to the " stealership" was not as bad as i thought it was going to be. all that it cost me was $247.10 and $100 of that was deductable for my warranty. i think i did alright

Well when I get my truck all torn apart and back together I'll let you know what I think of the dual disc. It isn't pretty right now. I decided to fix that annoying temp control problem, (slow down to fast and I get hot air and it won't go back to ac unless I turn it off and just wait, sometimes it is quick other times it takes forever) well my dash is sitting on my front seat and I had to cut a couple of the wires for axillary switches that didn't have quick disconnects. To get the stupid HVAC unit out of there I had to drain the radiator and the ac system, now I see why dodge wanted a grand for labor.

If you look around and find a shop you might be able to find a double disc cheaper than what I paid but mine was real close to 1800 shipped, and that was from southbend. I just moved back to MN and haven't found any good shops yet.
