Something no one has mentioned. You already have a 4" diameter exhaust from the turbo all the way back. You don't need any more, just do a muffler replacement, like mine or if you like magna use theirs, and then you can decide if you want to eliminate the kitty or not. I opted to keep the cat for now. BTW bigger exhaust with no engine mods = loss of low end torque and lower mileage.

You are correct. I am looking at just adding the muffler and tip but being new to diesel I'm not sure if there will even be a sound or mileage difference just doing that. What ya all think?

I am almost 100% positive only the 6.7's have the particulate filter. I hope so at least. I can roll some decent smoke being being a stock 2007 5.9....
My 6.7 smokes like an old lady in a casino.

I just did the muffler, and it is pretty quiet until you put a heavy load on it, then it talks pretty good. I did not notice any loss or gain in mileage with the muffler change.

My 6.7L emitted no smoke or soot until it hit about 1,500 miles. Now it does every time I accelerate. If Iset my Edge unit to "3" or higher the smoke billows out like ten old ladies in a casino!
