Default Turbo Silencer

I've already removed my turbo silencer and now i'm looking at removing the actual muffler which hooks up to the stock box. I'm curious to see if anybody had one this already. Or if I do something has to be put in it's place to help reduce flow. I was warned by a diesel mechanic that if i do this that it could possibly shoot the turbo out. I don't think it will but I'm looking for some advice since everything except the exhaust is stock. So wouldn't be like running a cold air intake or ram intake system?

The stockintake attachment if I read one of the statements right. I do believe it's a muffler/reducer. Took my silencer ring out already. Just would be nice to get a lil more whine out of my 3rd gen ram. But not at the cost of throwing my turbo out. But I don't see why it would. Hence the reason why i'm asking if anybody has removed this nice little contraption or know more about what would happen if I did replace it or take out it's little fancy insides (they're just press in)

So it won't remove enough restriction to rip out the guts of the turbo as well?

I have never heard of that happening.
From an engineering point of view I don't see how it could.
The baffles in it are for noise reduction.

That's what i think too. But it also has ridges inside of it. but... If I leave the unit intact I was thinking of just removing the baffels then putting it back together and then the air reduction for the most part should still be there. Hmmm..... Maybe that'll be tomorrows job. I was thinking if I couldn't pop the top off I'd surgically remove it (gotta love the dremel)and then glue it back together with jbweld or something along those lines. Smooth it out on the inside so no leakage can get through. But maybe i should buy a boost gauge so i can watch it before i do it. That could be a smart idea.

-Upload your pic on a free hosting site such as www.imagecave.com , and then paste the EZ code in with your text when you are posting, the pic will show up right in there with anything else you wrote.

-This is what you have... It is like an outer sleeve, with an "inner tube with baffles" slid up inside of it. If you cut the lip off of one end of thesleeve the inner tube (with the baffles) will slide right out, then you will have just the outer sleeve left too put back in the truck. I should have taken pics of mine when I did it but I forgot (I was so excited when it slid right out that I just through it back in the truck and went drivin' ).

Cut where I have high lighted in red (I cut mine with a dremel tool), then slide the inner tube/baffles out, clean it all up and reinstall. I also had some curved things in the 90 degreeelbow below this piece just before the turbo, I pulled them out by hand. You'll really hear the turbo now .
