Thats because the v8 powerstroke was built on a gas block.

I like the turbo sound that you can hear on the fords though.

Yeah they do have loud turbo's, even when they are pulling through a gas station or what not they seem to be spooling up.

Thats because the v8 powerstroke was built on a gas block.
none of the power strokes were manufacturered useing a gasoline block. . .your thinking about the GM 350 diesel. that is where they took a gas block, put in a different crank, changed the heads and let her roll. . .yea, bad things happened. I found one not long ago, they are an ok engine as long as you dont load it up.

Cummins makes many V design engines, just look at some of the QSK series engines, no problems there. I'm not sure what the overall issue with the VTA-903T is. Ive only had problems out of two engines out of the 10 when I was in the Cavalry. one blew a head gasket, which promptly allowed the rod to be slung through the block. another overheated due to improper operator maintenance. the head warped and ended up just replacing the engine. we had more problems out of the detroit diesel 8v92's.
