Default Turbo bearings

Ok i got in my truck the other moring to go to work and i went to pass on the interstate and when i hit about 15 psi of boost i heeard this sound comeing from the turbo and it wasnt the normal whistle it sounded like a a mouse being run over a loud whine almost and it does it all the time now when i hit anything above 15 psi and i dont know if the bearings went bad or what. a few months ago i took the intake tube off just to look in their and their was some dried oil on the turbo inlet i didnt pay it any mind and went on so what do you think it could be? And what are my options if the bearing went? thanks alot guys

youve got a torn boot. . .from the turbo. . .it is just small enough to allow you to get 15psi, but when it lets loose that is the sound you hear. . .pull all 4 off and look at them closely to see any cracks.

possably. . .you just need to look for tears. . .if you cannot find any tears you might not have tightened the clamps enough.

Not yet, still running on Plan B. I replace the torn boot with a 3 inch piece of silcone tubing from the gasket and rubber place here in town. They had some small pieces they let me have cheap. I still need to order something because the 3in to 4 inch boot on the intercooler itself is not in that good of shape. I just hate spending $200 for four 5 inch pieces of rubber and 8 hose clamps.

My truck has been making the same or similar noise. I don't have a boost guage, but whenever I accelerate while towing I hear an extra turbo noise. I told a diesel mechanic about it and he said it could be a bad bearing, but hopefully a good inspection of the boots will save me some money.
