Default First Mod

Well I'm looking for ideas since there are so many options on what I should do first with my truck.
I'm mainly looking in these catagorys and trying to see what you guys think.
Bumper - $1350 (priced from monster bumpers here's their site. Looking at getting the front end replacement)
http://www.stealthoffroad.com/frontbumpers.php
Gear vendor-Not sure how much it'll cost.
CAI + Chip (more than likely BD Power or Bully Dog)
Yes I'm getting gauges paycheck after next!
Can you guys think of any other gauges I should have thinking of running Pyro, Boost, Tran Temp, Engine oil pressure (due to couple of unfortunate events), EGT, Fuel Pressure gauge or maybe warning light?.
Oh yea was also considering the fuel pump lift. Should I add that as one of the first things to do?

Two added questions. First is there a DIY on installing gauges or is it just too simple to even list. Second on the chip should i be looking for a box or a programmer? what's the beniefit of having a programmer over a box or vise versa. Most of the mods I want to do to my truck have to do with improving mileage, negative side. I'll probably turn the chip up and kill mileage everynow and then but the results would be worth it So excited!

the GV overdrive will run you around 3500 bones.

with boxes, you have adjust on the fly capabilities. . .programmers you can clear out codes and do tire adjustments.

Here ya go ..

I think it's funny how your first mod listed was a BUMPER !!

Personally, If I were you, I'd put gauges in first, that way you can SEE how each and every mod you do afterwards effects your readings. After gauges, I'd go to a lift pump, then to exhaust, intake, and THEN a computer of some sort. Again, all of these steps are taken so that you can see how each one improves your rig. THEN you get the bumper !!

Reason I need the bumper is because stock 03 doesn't have tow hooks and also i use my truck quite a bit and do a bunch of country driving (intentially bought it for a rodeo rig) lots of deer at night. I'm thinking that a 1300 dollar sturdy bumper would make me alot happier if i hit a dear than being broke down with no intercooler and a big *** deer. Laying next too me. They do some damage. Half the time if they're big they'll get up and run away! My buddy hit one in an old 73 ford. We were doing 60 BAM! wasn't even that big i thought it was going to land in my lap. Busted up his rig pretty good. The deer got up and ran away! I was amazed! Rather have it dent up my bumper, rather than tear out my radiator, intercooler, ac condensor etc. etc. Also drew, doesn't bully dog programmer have adjustable on the fly? Hey Jimmy, whats a trans slip gauge, would that be for an auto or for manual clutch slippage? I know if i'm running too much power i'll have to switch clutches. Also like i said mayfair going to put gauges in I'll be sure to post pics of how they end up looking I'm going to get dsl here soon as well so it won't take forever to post em! I think i have em all picked out and how i'm going to apply em in the cab so they're not so visible from the outside. Thanks for the info on the Gear vendor drew.

I would recommend the edge with attitude, you get most of the guages you will need (no fuel pressure and you ahve to drill and tap for egt) and you can adjust tire size. I have also read good things about the quadzilla products as well as the commander. Edge gives tranny protection also.

What is the Trans slip gauge? ???????? !!!!Edge is good hmmm.... Kinda leaning towards bully dog w/ outlook but I'll research the edge is it a box or a programmer like the bully dog? I'm still going to have gauges partially because i like the looks of em and I'll probably check them more than my monitor.

With the Edge juice with Attitude, it will tell you how much slippage your getting in the tranny, personally I would be more concerned about the tranny temp.
