I would love to put a cummins into a f250 king ranch. That would be the ultimate truck. Luxery and reliable power.

i agree squitbottle! not to knock dodge because they are nice too, but the ford does have a nice build. (dont get all crazy on me now guys, remember i do own a dodge![:-]) but to answer you drew, i am not 100% but i am pretty sure it is a L8000, and i beleive its around the year 95. a great running truck! lots of power, never anything wrong engine related....

I still get a kick out of the comercial when the dude says "even the turbo has a turbo. . .one to get you going and the other to keep you going."

heck, our trucks only need one

ford never 'owned' cummins. . .they just owned shared in cummins stock. ford sold off it's shared years ago but still buy's ISB's ISC's and ISX's from them for their medium and heavy duty truck segment(F-6,7,&8's)
This is correct, you can get the details on the Cummins website, I think it was in a FAQ section. I don't remember it word for word but they made it clear that ford NEVER owned them. I remember hearing rumors about that years ago. Thank god it was BS

Buy owned I ment a controling interest in the stock. (they had the largest block of stock)

that they did. . .I dont remember the actual numbers, but they did own almost as much stock as the Cummins family. If the light duty engines they are producing for the 1500's are as sucessfull as the ISB they would make a mint just from the stock alone.

Somewhere in Diesel Power they were talking about covering a build up of a Ford chassis with a Cummins engine and an Allison tranny (courtesy of a new adapter)...could be interesting.
