I have had mysilver diamond plate "Better Built" box for about 6 years now. I bought it at Lowe's, but it looks identical to the deep Kobalt box they sell now. I can't say it has been problem free. The push button locks stick and have to be greased every few months. The hinge is made pretty cheap. Thebox has tosit several inchesfrom the rear windowotherwise the lid would hit the glass if opened fast.

I want to put a black box on my truck, so I have been shopping around. The best box I have found so far is at a TSC. It's aWeather Guard. The deep box runs almost $600, but after reading about them, it seems worth the money. I can step down a bit and get the TSC brand (Delta) which is a good box, but I really like the looks and featurethe Weather Guard has.

A previous post mentioned the UWS (United Welding Service) boxes. They are well made, I just haven't found the deep box I'm looking for from them. I bought a set of their nerf bars and love them.

I think I am going to steer clear of lowes and home depot boxes. The husky boxes dont seem to fit as good as some of the higher grade boxes. I going to get a delta or a deezee (dont remember which it was) but work has been a bit slow so I am going to hold off for a few weeks.

I am inthe Raleigh area and we have a place called AGRI Supply. I bought a cross over that I got for one of my work trucks, nice heavy duty alum. unit. I have a TSC unit in my personal truck, real light weight compared to the other unit. Depends on what you want to do with the box as to what you need to buy.

I had one from Lowes in my Dakota and used it almost everyday and never had any trouble with it, for the money they are really not that bad. but I grew up and bought a big truck and left the box in the Dak.
