Default Toolboxes

I am looking to get a crossover, aluminium, low profile, black box for my truck. I can get it for $288 at Lowes (Kobalt brand) but I am not sure if they are any good. I have been searching for a good online store but price I have found is around $400 shipped. Shipping is killer on these things.

do you have a TSC (tractor supply company) near you? i've bought 3 boxes from them and they've held up really good. their boxes are made by Delta and just retagged. they usually have plenty in stock. otherwise go with Delta anyways, good boxes in my opinion, with many different sizes and quality grades to fit your needs/budget.

those kobalts look really good too.

make sure you get one that has good adjustability in the latches and strong lid lifts.

lowe's kobalt feel thin and flimsy. looks and feels like sitting on top of it would dent it.
I had a UWS that was good.
check your local craigslist. i've seen some good used deals on there.

i got a UWS on my truck and i love it... i got it for 100$ used in brand new shape off ebay a year or 2 ago and i found it local so i picked it up myself. my brothers got a delta and its also great! we have a few huskies and kobalt boxs on some of our work trucks and i have to say.... for what we put them thru they hold up like any other! i would look around for price and maybe even consider a local e-bay search and find the price you like. even those cheaper thin ones will hold up for the kind of use you would come across in the back of a pick up... JMO guys!

I have a husky (homedepot), basically I only had 200-250 dollars so it was between a kobalt-husky-cheap delta-cheap craftsman-or something else cheap. Best I could tell they were all about equally not good, so I choose the husky cause I thought the name would look good on my truck... "HUSKY" kinda goes good with "BURLY" . Anyway, now that I have it, it really isn't all that bad. I can sit on it (240lbs) and it dosen't permanetly dent in. And it keeps all my crap from rollin around. Money well spent.

On another note..... inferno red... black toolbox... are trucks are gonna be twins in no time .
