I have the k&n kit. This post is kind of making me worry, so i am going to put my stock airbox back on. What drop in filters are good filters, and also the infamous BHAF how much is this and how good does this work.

The BHAF will flow just as much as the K&N just instead of cleaing and servicing you simply replace the fliter when it gets dirty and the BHAF will run you about 75 dollars here is the part number if u want to look it up on napa 2790......better yet here is the link

I too have the K&N and I agree that it takes some time to clean it properly, however I clean mine every time I change the oil. By keeping the same routine the job has become a lot easier.

The night before I change my oil, I take off my K&N and I throughly clean it using the K&N cleaner. I rinse the crap out of it, and then I hang it in front of a fan for the night. The next morning, I'll oil up the K&N, then go about changing my oil. Once I'm done changing my oil, my clean fresh K&N is ready for action and I re-install it.

Works good for me !!

I agreee with DBLR about the Amsoil dropin.
Iv got one on my 05 and like the fact that besides doing a great job, cleaning it is a matter of pulling, blow and go,
There is a pic in my gallery of what happened to me with a Airraid dropin after about 8000 miles.

i think hearing all of this i am going to go with the BHAF instead of the K&N.being a 18 year old kid who goes to school and plays football i would never have time to clean and maintain a K&N

If I needed to start from scratch, I'd pick the BHAF as well.

Does anyone know if that filter willl fit onto a K&N elbow? Maybe someday I'll try it out.

if the opening is 4" it will

I used the stock intake pipeing and just stretched it over the filter end.

mines starting to look pretty rough, but she still flows good

oiled filter is something like airaid that is a system when you clean it you have to re-oil the system. The K&N system is a dry system I believe. But I maybe wrong. I ran the airraid on my gaser and am planin on runing the AFE on the diesel.
yeah pretty much, i am not for sure about "oil" systems hurting the turbo. I dont see why it would. But I would for sure choose the K&N over the napa filter system. And no, that system isnt going to hurt your turbo..I have a lot of friend running it, and I also use the air filter inside my stock box.
Hmm... are you sure you don't need to be oiling the K&N filter you have inside your factory air box? If so I'm sure it is lettin all kinds of crap through.
