My old sprint worked when i went to Kentucky, I went to nextel as that's what everyone in construction wanted to talk to you on, so I lost service at Gate City Va every yearI went up, switched to the hybrid so my phone would work in Kentucky again, guess what I lost service at Gate City, just like with Nextel.

One good thing if you want out of your contract you start calling every day till they boot you, I love it and may have to use it soon.

Now there is a idea for early dismissal.

If you are having issues or just feel like you are being dicked around, call customer support and ask to speak to someone in Retention. I can almost guarantee you that you will be taken care of....

I recently had a phone that malfunctioned. The local stores would test it and find minor issues, but nothing worth replacing the phone. After a few times of dealing with this issue, I finally had enough and called Retention. Within 35 minutes, I had a completely different, brand new phone being mailed to me. Now, I did have to pay a $50 insurance fee. This is completely normal. The lady who I spoke to then directed me to call back to customer support and let them know that I had been recieving some very bad customer service and that the person I spoke to said that you could credit me some money. She said it differently, I just cant remember how exactly.

I got my phone and my problem is gone. It's all in a matter of how you handle it. I always try to go about it the right way, but at some point you have to escalate the issue. Perhaps you should consider this instead of being forced out of your contract....

One word of caution: Chances are, these people who were bounced now have a permanent black flag on their credit history or personal file. This could potentially deny you good rates or discounts on various things...

I've had sprint for about 8 yrs now, with a 1yr switch to nextel for work. Sprint has always given me great service and is always giving me things,, nextel on the other hand is a horrible company and needs to be burned at the steak,, lol. I have called sprints customer service and cursed them out before for stuff,, but they always fix things and have never really given me trouble. Its like anything I guess,, some people are gonna get good sevice and some ppl wont.

I dunno how I would go through the day without my cell. . .phone, PDA, music, calander, and everything else in the palm of my hand. . . .no I dont have an iPhone.

started out with Bell South wireless, then that was sold to Cingular, not AT&T has bought them. . .still getgood coverage and pretty good support.

the phone I have got flaky on me. . .wouldnt dial out, and sometimes wouldnt get signal, even though it registered full signal. called up the hotline and 3 days later had a brand new phone at no charge to me

The customer is NOT always right.....and that is indeed a fact. I'm truly tired of watching people scam, cry, and complain their way into free crap just because they know they can get it.
I agree 1000% and if Sprint is indeed dumping people who abuse the system then I'm all for it, however I just hope that now the the seal has been broken that it doesn'tbecome OK to dump people for any ole reason. That's what I'm afraid of.

Why would anyone want Sprint service anyway? The service is horrible and next to Nextel was the worst service in the country so I laughed when the two combined so fitting for each other. They are a business out to make money so they are not going to "break the seal" and start dumping people no matter how bad they might be if it is going to cost them money.

I hear you Drew, I know they can be handy. In my case however the cell PH was more like a ball and chain, easy for the wife to call and say stop on the way home for..... and it was never ending with work calling on my days off so I finally said enough! I am a computer tech by trade so I do love technology,[8D]

There was an article in the newspaper. It did not mention anything about dropping military personel.

They dropped those 1000 people because they called over 50times to customer service per month for silly nonsense. They said the average customer calls 2 times a month. Those 1000 people accounted for over 50,000 calls to the call center each month. They create the same amount of call volume as 25,000 normal customers. That increased the amount of staff needed to accomodate these calls and it also increases the amount of wait time the other customers had to wait for legitimate needs to call in. Sprint's thinking is that if you are that unhappy with their service you would just be better off going somewhere else because if you call 50 to 60 times or more a month and gripe, nothing they are going to do is going to make you happy.

I'm glad they dropped these 1000 people because I have had my own business and there were customers that needed to be fired. It is a good smack in the face for the 1000 cry babies that called in everytime the slightest little thing did not go the way theyexpected it to. You know the type I'm talking about.
I agree with Bob. Let's say that Sprint has 2 million wireless customers. Dropping 1000 of them would be 0.05%. Those high maintenance customers drive up the costs and make everything more expensive for the rest of us.
