The engine alone makes resale or salvage value great for the Cummins. We had a 95 get wrecked and the insurance company was only going to give us 2k for it. Pulled the engine (which ran great and was turned up) and sold it for 4k and parted out the rest. It damn near paid for the 96 we bought to replace it. So even in pieces they're still worth something.
