YG4 option 5.5 gal of fuel
YG4 Option: An additional gas tank means that there is an additional gas tank for reserve fuel.
I sent a email to Dodge and got my build sheet, I got it back but it did not list the YG4 option., It looks like there is another small tank under my truck, and on some paperwork the dealer gave me he said it had additional 5.5 gallon tank on it. Can I get the computer upgraded to add this option, so it will show more miles to empty??

Dude, you TOTALLY lost me here.
Does this tank work off of a switch, or does it feed into your main tank?
Are there now two filler necks / places to fill?
I'm notfamiliar with a reserve tank for dadges at all, but in myold Ford when i switched from one tank to the other ( at the dash ) the gas gauge would show whatever the fuel level was in each tank when i switched it.

I looked at the tank under my truck and the is a tank stamped 5 on it, yesterday after the fuel light light came on I drove about 25 more miles and when I filled it up it would only hold 31.5 gallons so I guess it does drain into the other tank. The dealer does not know how it works.
I wonder if DC has started adding in the vent tube mod for these fuel tanks.
the gassers and our trucks share the exact same fuel tank, on the back side of the tank there is an area where air is able to collect for the expansion of gas when the tank is full. . .diesel doesnt expand like gasoline, and not only that it foams up. you can put a vent tube on the top of that "bubble" and gain about 5 gallons of capacity.

Diesel does expand. When I first got my 90 gallon tank I made the mistake of topping it off to the very top. You couldn't get as much as a shot glass of diesel fuel in it with out it going over the top. I drove it about 2 miles and parked it in the sun and about an hour later I came out and there was a huge puddle of diesel all over the ground and in the back of my truck. It got up to 100 degrees I remember because it was the first time I saw the outside temp go over 99. We took the cap off the 90 gallon tank and you could watch it slowly bubble out. It made a huge mess in the bed and on the ground. Parked it in the shade and it quit. Once it cooled down there was about a 1 inch gap of air between the top of the tank and the fuel line. I later figured out that 1 inch equals about 4 gallons of diesel in my tank. It was amazing that much fuel came out.
