Default Speaker Sizes

I just recently bought my 2007 CTD. I had a 1998 gasser before, which had aftermarket speakers. I would like to take the aftermarket speakers from the 98 and put them in the 07. Are the speaker housings the same size?

I went on Crutchfield and ran both your trucks and it looks like they are the same speakers...6 1/2" by 6 3/4" Just depends if you have the infinity speakers.

I can't imagine they would change it...they haven't changed much else...still have ball joint and steering component problems that they had back then.

speaker size changed from my 01 to my 07. I used to run 6x9's in the front which they still do but in the back they were 6.5's and now there 5 1/4's. Just what I found. Take a look. Everything else should transfer.

So the stock stereo in the 07's will sound great with some aftermarket speakers?? no real need to change the stereo ? it has plenty of power?? my cd player gets REALLY HOT after only playing one cd.

My 03 didn't have infinity speakers and I swapped from a 02 1/2 ton with the infinity sound system into my 03. Just the doors didn't want to mess with the tweeter wiring. I know they're both 3rd gen.
