if you had the time to come all the way down to good ol' utah tanner transmissions does one hell of a job, they built mine with a new torque converter and a bigger trans cooler which he said is a main reason the tranny's on my year go out, tranny is also guaranteed for as long as I own the truck!

CutterW,
Post up ifyou find any decent prices for good work.
Mine made a big clunk then wouldn't go anywhere in D. Reverse is fine, but try explaining that one to the police.
Shifting it down to 1 lets me move, slow take off and shimmies until about 15mph, then I can put it in D and it works fine. I checked fluid- level was good and so was smell & color. I haven't had a chance to check linkage (it was sloppy), but I sure would hate to put a tranny in it since I've only had it 4 weeks (182000 miles on it). Maybe this is why it was for sale to begin with.

I founnd a local shop at Woodward, Oklahoma called Ajax Transmissions and he said 3 days and 2400 for my pickup to rebuild the transmission with a 3 part torque converter. He has about 5 guys he did this new converter to in the first month it came out and they all have over 100k miles on them and say they stay cooler than stock and pull alot nicer. The way he said it half of them are stock motors and said they even get better pull out of it. But I got bad news. Chip will come first cause my dad said he wants to just let me tear the tranny up then rebuild it.(I'll see what I can do once its chipped) But I'll make it last long as it can cause i am kinda after milage but yet still be capable of pulling a trailer if have to.
