I know that this has probly been asked a bunch of times. I was wondering what the best exhaust whould be for my truck. I have a 2001 quad cab 4x4 dually w/ a 5 spd. I plan on putting on a FASS system and a juice w/ attitude. I also have a K&N drop in filter already. I want that big truck sound, and i'd like to stay w/ a 4" system w/ a 5" tip just for the looks. straight pipe 4" sounds good. . .5" has a deep throaty sound, but can get loud.

mayfair will tell you any type of stacks with the rain caps(tink tinks) are the best

 

i am gunna go with the 4 inch magnaflow that most come with the SS 5 inch tip..

 

cut a hole in your bed and run some5 inch turnouts with internal mufflers.

 

5" stacks will do you nice! especially when its a 4" downpipe right to 5" straight pipes.

Straight pipe is about as close to the big rigs as your gonna get, just louder in some cases. I have 4in turbo back to a 5in tip and it sounds great.

 

As much as I like stacks I dont want them on my pickup, It wont fit in my garage. Any particular brand of exhaust kit? Thanks for the help!! Brian

 

im suprised an aero hasnt been mentioned yet! althought straight pipes are WAY louder, i put a 4" areo on my straight pipes first until i added another muffler for sound decrease. the areo sounded nice but if your looking for that big rig rumble go straight, just be prepared to have a low end drop on your throttle... i did atleast untill i added some back pressure with those 2 mufflers

 

I think 01 have 3.5in exhaust dont they? Mine did and all I did was put a pipe in place of Resonater and Muffler. Now just need a curved tip to make it shake the ground.

 

Turn down will definately make the ground shake, I gotta pull mine off though and put a straight tip on, getting too much soot built up on the trailer and boat[:@]
