Thanks for response to my issue Drew!... I thought it might be tranny shifts or TC slippage, soon when I sell my other daughter and left testie, I' ll get me a built tranny and a alunimum cooler ( got that silly plastic one now[:@]) and grab a phat shaft 62 or 64. Then.....it'll never end...injectors, fuel pump on and on...
but for now I guess I gotta let up some.... LOL who am I kidding...

 

are you chipped or have a programmer? on my o5 ctd, i had an edge chip and while pullin a hill with trailer behind me, i blew the ends (seams)off the intercooler. it only would make noise while under load and took the dealer some time to find it. they replaced it with a intercooler with metal ends, as my 07 has now. all probs they had with these were only on chipped motors.

 

some stock motors will bark the turbo if your in the throttle enough.

also the the plastic IC ends splat, if you can blow one of the ends off the dealer will replace it at no charge. I dont see a TSB out on it, but the stocker is pretty good at removal of intake heat.

 

Hey drew, off subject but how good is a timing sensor? I know edge automatically adjusts your timing but If I don't go with edge Iwant to know what the benefits are? Are there mileage benefits?

 

you can get a rok teck CPS that will advance the timeing up to 2* mechanicaly. some have seen benifits with it while others have not. . .realy a hit and miss. those that have seen improvements have seen as much as 2mpg better mileage, a cooler running engine(since the timeing has been advanced 2* the egt's are cooler) and the A/C actualy working better. . .

 

also if your IC was split, you'd have trouble building boost, which is the opposite of the problem being discussed here...

for whatever reason, mine builds boost really easy now whereas 6 months ago (winter fuel probably) it was a different story. boost would build but at a slower pace when compared to now.

 

Drew, Ive never heard mine Bark and believe me I wind her up pretty tight going through the gears. Sometimes I go red through every gear to keep it cleaned out. I feel like Im gonna pull my trailer apart at times[:@]I guess I got cheated on the turbo bark. Good thing I guess

 

farmerguy, i have the rokk timing sensor along with diablosport had it set on "tow"... I can get it to bark unloaded as well if I'm hard on go pedal...

Drew... sounds intriging split the IC get new metal ends... I'll wait till i'm closer to home
