300F is a good safe temp to shut down. . .you can run hard at any temp, just dont go over 1200pre turbo on your 02.
Can you install one pre and post with the edge without having to have a secondguage (only attitude monitor)? Does the edge support 2 EGT's? Or could you do some sort of switch to have one reading most of the time (the pre for driving) and another whenever needed (post at shutdown to verify cool enough for safe shutdown). And 300F post is a good shutdown number as well as 1200 pre (with obviously SHORT stints above), do these numbers go for most CTD or is it different for some other years (you mentioned 02... implying a difference in years)
Just trying to soak up as much knowledge before my trip as possible.

Is that what I think it is? a water cooled turbo[:-]

Mayfair when soot is burned it turns to ash just like your charcoal in your barbeque does. Ash builds up in the dpf and eventually the dpf will need pulled off and cleaned
Yes, my turbo apparently has a water jacket around it.

What is the duribility of bank's juice with attitude? How long does the attitude last? Will it last as long as a regular guage?

You're asking too many questions for a guy who doesn't even own a diesel! These forums are based on give and take, and your account is in arrears.

I thought forums are for learning! That is all I'm doing! Nothing wrong with that! I am learning from scratch!

Many of your questions are easily found if you do a search online, or in the forum. Plus you have some errors in your questions: Banks does not produce the juice with attitude, that is an Edge product. Banks has the 6 gun tuner and such. I cannot speak to the durability specifically, however any programmer can hurt a vehicle if you don't pay attention to parameters (EGT's, boostand others). I have read/ heard that Banks and Edge both have safety features to prevent braking things, but like most things I think those can be bypassed... not sure though.
Bottom line: when you modify ANY engine you have to watch particular parameters to prevent ruining the engine, especially if you are running it to the edge(towing, racing, or just punching it all the time...)
I don't see anything wrong with asking questions, but make sure you can't find the answer somewhere easily, in searching you may find the answer to questions you never knew you had! That is the best way to go for a newbie in any engine.

I guess with adding the regen cycles and extra heat they needed to add some active cooling on the turbo. So what is the gallon capacity of the radiators on these new 6.7's?
