I've heard good things about Ams Oil for synthetic and Royal Purple. havne't heard anything bad about rotella T. heard bad things about valvoline. So... guess it's up too you. If I were going to stick with reg oil I'd go with rotella t. If I was going to go synthetic i'd go ams oil or royal purple.

I have been using Amsoil for a few years, and I think their products are superb. They start with a Group IV (polyalphaolefin or PAO) base stock, as opposed to the cheaper hydrocracked Group III oils used by Mobil and Royal Purple.
Amsoil produces a few oils for diesels. The newest is their CJ-4 rated 5W-40, which is what I am using in my CTD. Here is a link: engine oils

use this stuff in all my vehicles front to rear..... they've been around for years but, aren't that well known for passenger vehicles. Many a race car drivers have and do use it, they have contracts with several government and industrial agencies around the world. One being the Coast Guard..... that's a lot of diesel boat engines !! It's not cheap but, with the oil reports I've got back from using it... I wouldn't use anything else.
