I thnk I remember Steve saying that it DOES turn black just as fast.

Bypass oil filter system isn't that expensive. It's like 300 bucks is what he said. Guess he could have been just telling me the wrong price but he showed me in the books too so I dont' know. I thoguht it was going to be like 600 but it's only 300. It's cheaper than a good exhaust (unless you do it your self [8D]) So I don't imagine it's too terribly expensive. But does it really take away the black oil look! NOOOOOO!!!! I love that look, it's apart of making a diesel a diesel. Just like the smoke out the rear, loud clangy engine, throaty exhaust. Smoking tires. Black oil, and of course Tons of low end torque. Oh well. I'd still get it because i don't wanna change synthetic oil every 15k.
