Default Now that can't be good!

Hey guys I was out shooting the other day with a buddy and I went up a small hill and put my foot in the pedal to come up the top of it and the engine power cut down. I just figured I was too late in hitting the pedal and the turbo didn't have time to kick in so it lugged and flooded so to speak. Well anyways got up the road aways put my foot into it again and It started sputtering again! Well I had to go to work today and we thought it might be the fuel filter. So i ran in and got a new fuel filter threw it in. Started it up. Went along my way. Ran like a top. Had power. Until... It got warmed up. Started sputtering again. All the way to work anytime there was stress on the engine and the fuel needed increased. Coming home. Same thing. Cold, did great. Got warmed up. Sputtered. I'm guessing it's one of a couple things. Listed in this order.
[ol][*]Lift pump.[*]Injector Pump[*]Lift pump and injector pump.[*]Injectors[/ol]
Any Ideas, Suggestions? I'm going to look at FASS for a lift pump kit also bd-power to see how much they are. next paycheck is gone. Gotta get the oil changed . Going to switch to synthetic so it'll be pricey. And gotta start buying gauges and the fancy holders for em too. Any suggestions guys would be much appreciated. Thanks. Also no white smoke. Just seemed to be cutting out of fuel. Looked for white smoke almost all the way there at city speeds, highway speeds. didn't see anything. Doesn't mean my pump wouldn't have gone out either though.

How many miles. The injectors on 03 are different than 02 and tend to go out. Both my uncles' pickup's have had their injectors go out on theirs. Bad part is only 3 seems to go out.

I know it may be a far fetch. . .but what is the condition of your pop off valve on the rail???

pull the banjo bolt off the top of it and see if it is wet with fuel. I hope thats not the issue and it is just the lift pump that is giving you fits. the pop off valve is around $220 and it's a dealer only part last I checked.

Pop Valve? Now where specificially is that drew? Under the plastic cummins cover? Well it's still cheaper thana FASS fuel system. I'm not going to drive it to work today. I'll drive my moms ford. [&o]Anyways I'll look for that when I get home.
I have right at 124k right now.
Hey drew the thing is I'm really confused on what it is due to the fact of it only doing it when it warms up. It's crazy. If it's injectors I'll upgrade to bosch or something. Stage 1 or maybe 2. If it's the lift pump I was planning on upgrading it. And if it's that then I guess I can just fix it! Woopti. Plus priced my gauges out. Going to have 8 gauges ! wow. Bout 800 bucks all together.

Neg warrantee coverage bought it used with 118k and I think in 03 max warrantee was like 100 k tops. Wish I did. but I don't. But hopefully this will clean up with something a liil better.

the rail popoff valveis the brass looking thing on top of the fuel rail going up. about 2-3" in length.

heres a pic of it in the circled area. . .I kinda wish I could get ahold of some of these bling bling injector lines

one thing you may want to get is a rail pressure gage to monitor the fuel pressure of the rail. . .5,000psi at idle, 8-16,000 psi cruise, no more than 22-24,000psi with your foot on the floor board.

8 guages $800, how come you don't want to just get an edge juice/attitude, it would be the same cost and would let you do a little more than just guages.

Approx half the gauges the edge doesn't cover. Such as both diff temp, Oil pressure (don't trust stock seen 2 trucks go down so far. both 3rd gen.) Running, and now I should start looking for another fuel pressure gauge. Hey drew any idea on where I can find one and the approx cost?
But so far this is the set up I hope to run.
Transmission Located in the cubby hole under radio
Both Front and rear diffs located in cubby hole under radio
Oil Pressure on Column
Egt Post Engine - Column
Boost above mirror
Fuel pressure above mirror
Post turbo EGT (mainly for shutdown)
And if I get the Rail pressure it'll most likely go above the mirror as well.

That way I can tell where everything should go. It's mostly going to be a 3 month project is the expected time I give myself to buy all the gauges and install them all. Mainly due to the fact that I hope to buy the fass system within that amount of time as well. I'm steering clear of the column pods because I see alot of trucks with em and I just think it'd be nice to be a lil different in the gauge setup. Plus I hope to be driving long miles in this truck and I'd like to know if something is going wrong before it happens so I won't be sitting at a dealership away from home spending money on motels just for them to tell me that they need more money for something stupid like replacing a seal or giving me excuses on why it's so complicated. So if I catch it early I can look at it and be like. Well, I can through some duct tape on it and make it too the nearest auto parts store and go at it from there. Can you imagine if your diff seal goes out, you do a quick fix and then you make it to the parts store. Walk in buy a pan and some gear oil start changing everything out right there. That'd be great.
