Default F THE DEALER!

Went at 6:30 this am to the dealer. Said $120 for Valve adjustment and then $50 for brakes and then $48.00 to test fuel pressure for a half hour on the comp. So, At 1:30 ( sat in the waiting room the whole time because no shuttle to my house because of distance) they tell me I need $877 in brakes for front pands, rear pads, and rear rotors. My jaw dropped. I said do just the front pads which they still said $175 for it. My fuel pressure came back at 11 psi and thank god I knew what it ment cuz that lady has noooo idea, she had to call a tech just to know what it ment. Then i finally said screw this after 7 hours of waiting at the dealer and my dad called them and told me them release my vehical and they charged me $76 just for looking at the brakes with a total bill of $175 for the fuel pressure and looking at the brakes. They also told me I need at $75 gasket for the valve adjustment so I said screw that too. So just got home at around 2:15 and got nothing insept knowing that the damn dodge dealer ship in maine called Lee Automall should not even have a service department and also had nothing done to the truck in 7 hours worth of waiting at the dealer!

SO I will do the brakes me self this weekend for much less and then try to find someone to adjust the valves since im a newbee to this world for a lil less then $250!!!!

I was soo pissed at the dealer, and the fact they had to ask me if the truck was a diesel WHILE IT WAS RUNNING RIGHT NEXT TO HER!!!..

soo..thats my story...

Hell, take a road trip to Arizona. Plug your truck in overnight and that should get you here.

Get the tools (the feeler guage, torque wrench, and the socket/wrenches to get into it) and take your time and you can do it with no problems. One of the easiest maintenance item that requires actually getting into the engine. Just take your time, and before you put everything back together spin the engine a few times and make sure everything looks good before buttoning it up. As far as the gasket, you shouldn't need a new one, just take a good look at it and if it looks old or cracked or isn't soft then replace it.
You will be fine! If you are willing to do the brakes yourself you should be more then capable of doing the valve adjustment.
