Default Steering adjustment?

I've noticed a fair amount of play in the steering on my 04 2500 CTD. I checked the ball joints and everything seems ok, then I noticed I could reach into the engine compartment and turn the steering shaft by hand. It moves a good 3/4" side to side before it grabs at the steering box. Is there an adjustment on the steering box that I can remove this slack?

This is for a 94, but the gear box is the same as my 01. Don't know about your model but I'm sure it will be close.
