RE: Diesel Smell
As far as 'unburned diesel' goes.. I used to look at the greasy old diesel pump handles asI filled gas and think "manI never want to own a diesel".. Now that I own a diesel there's only been a few of those oily pumps give me any trouble..WhatI notice the most is.. if you get some ULSD on your hands while pumping.. the smell isn't very strong and it doesn't last long at all. I'd much rather have diesel on my hands than gas.
Drew - I fly model airplanes and runRC cars too..I love the smell of nitro glow fuel.. specially the stuff with castor oil in it.

RE: Diesel Smell
Love the smell ofdiesel exhaust, jet exhaust (close cousin), RC exhaust, andalcohol funny cars too.It kinda sucks that those of us that have our cats in place get robbed of the sweet smell, exceptwhen you first start it up in the morning.I know I know , it's easy to remedy. I'm gonna keep it for now, but if it ever clogs.... it's gonna be by by kitty!

I love the smell of a cold Detroit in the morning, I had Dad's 40 foot MCI in my back yard for a year an a half while we where starting conversion to a motor-coach, I would start it every week and take it for a long drive 200 miles once a month just to keep things up and running.
It's been on the road now for 15 years and still going strong, it's up north somewhere right now till it get cold and Dad will come back to Fla
