3:73 or 4:10
So I have been curious to what rear-end my truck came with. Done some reading here and can't seem to figure it out.
So just got off the phone with the salesman I bought it from. He said that for 2006 models the 4:10 was a special order and 95% of them came with 3:73's. He also said that if it was a 4:10 it would say so on the window sticker. My window sticker only mentions the rear axle in one spot, where it says 11.50 Rear Axle.
With all of that. Can I be pretty certain I have the 3:73, or is there another way I can double check?
Thanks.

Guess I should have specified year/model/trans.
It is a 2006 QC SB with a 6-speed manual.
Stickers? I've looked for some, but cannot find them on my 06. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.
RPM's at 70? Here in the future national hippy preserve, OR, the speed limit is 55mph. On the Interstate it is 65mph.
I'll have to check the RPM's though. There are a lot of hybrids meandering around looking for the spotted owl's. Did you read that the population is being wiped out faster now than when logging was occurring in full force. Apparently their cousins don't care for them either!

Your truck mostdefinitely has 3.73's. The G56 trannsmission in your truck (according to DC) was only paired with 3.73 rear ends. The G56 tranny was naturally geared low allready so mating it with a 4.10 rear end would have made an extremely low overall gearing. There will be no indication of the rear end gearing on the window sticker since there was no option. You should go to www.dodge.com and email them requesting a build sheet for your truck, it will give you all kinds of usefull info.
Now go pull some stumps out of the ground!

There should be a sticker in your glove box that will have the codes on it. That's were mine is on my 2005 dually. Should read like this-
DEE - 6-spd HD manual trans
DMF - 4:10 axle ratio
DRX - 11.50 dual rear wheels
DSA - anti-spin differential rear
PS2 - primary paint
QS2 - secondary paint
This is what is printed on mine. I would think 2006 should be simular.

We (me and the salesman) searched all overmy truckto find a sticker stating what gearsit had. In my 02 it was in the glove box.. he said they had stoppedusing a sticker and thought the only way to find out might be in the vin # ... but he assured me mine had 3.73.. even though no one a the dealership could find it in writing anywhere. Having it in the glove box was so simple.. why would they change something like that?
when i just got my truck they didnt have the window sticker they lost it. i looked in my glove box and all for my 07 and didnt see what kinda gears. im pretty sure its 3.73 cause i run about 77 on the highway and was at about 2000 rpms
