Default Switching from 4.10 t 3.73's

Any idea what the cost would be or the increase in MPG switching from 4.10's to 3.73's?

Let me re-phrase that.

Is the cost savings you would see going with 3.73's over 4.10's in gas mileage worth losing that wonderful Boo-Yaa you get from the 4.10's?

my opinion? no way.. i'd rather drive the truck till it had enough miles on it to trade it for a newer truck with 3.73's if thats what you still want. if it costs a grand to change the gears.. and it bumps you 2 mpg.. it's gonna take a lotta miles to get your investment back

it depends on what your going to do with your truck... you dont mention if it's 2wd or 4wd... if your going to lift & add oversized tires, i'd stay with the 4.11's.

I am only going to do the 2 inch level and bump to 33's on the stock 17 inch rims. I switched over to diesel for the gas mileage and power (getting in and out of traffic here in Socal) and of course because now I'm cool ;o). I have been sooooooo happy with the improved gas mileage and miss my HEMI well ummmm I DON'T!!!!! I have no issue with the 4.10's just thought I would look into it though.

Oh yeah and my rig is 2WD.

keep the 4.10's if you are going to increase the tire size.
