take floor jack and lift each wheel off the dround. spin them by hand and listen. if its a hub cap, or bearing you should hear it.

with the wheel up, carefully look for rocks and other FOD in the tread before lowering it back down.

if all else fails, run throguht he under cariage and greesa every point you can. if the noise goes away, then its a bearing or u joint.

take it one thing at a time.

maybe, maybe not a trans prob.

could judt be a u joint thats worn.

noises are some of the hardest things to figure out.

make a list of what you have checked as you go...then it shortens your suspicions..unlike a restless woman!

To check the U-joint i have to remove it right? Because i grabbed the driveshaft and there is no play in it, but i know that doesn'ttotally mean that the u-joint is fine... I don't know if this info helps any, but the knocking noise is there ONLY while moving. I hear it whether im in gear, or bumped in neutral coasting, whether im accelerating or slowing down.. However when i'm almost to a complete stop, 5-15 mph the noise goes away. Does this strike any new ideas? Also, what should i check first?
