Sweet!! just so everyone else knows, it worked! With the odometer showing the actuall mileage, and not the trip odo, holdin the little stick for 10 sec and then it changes over to hours. My average speed so far has been 25.21 mph... anybody else??

Got you beat Savage... 64129 miles and 1300 hours = average speed of 49.33 mph.

You can't use the overhead console to calculate average speed, the overhead hours are a trip timer. There are 2 time settings on it, one re-sets everytime you start up and the other one re-sets every so often (I forget when) but the one on the odometer keeps a running tab.

I thought that was just elasped clock time since the last reset, not necessary a true engine hour indicator.

Holding the odometer/trip button for approx 10 sec. shows a true engine hour reading
