I have the valve as well and have not put it on yet. I am waiting to fix the oil leaks before installation. But mayfair is right, the valve is locked in position and will not open accidentally. It also is a beefy unit, does not look like it will break off eaisly. I got the one without the nipple. After seeing mayfair's pics, I should have gotten the nipple like his, that is a great idea!!

Does anyone have this style of drain plug?

Looks like it would be more low profile, although I think you are pretty much hosed if you loose the little drain fitting dealy

My dad had that one on one of his trucks before and he liked it. If you loose the little hose thingy, no biggie, you can always unscrew the whole thing like a regular ole drain plug.

It's not just a hose, it's the fitting that the hose is attached to. When you screw the fitting in, it pushes a valve up and lets the oil flow out. You can kinda see it in the picture.

I'm about to roll over 24K and it will be my last oil change with the OEM plug. I got my finger touch in the mail a couple days ago. Its pretty sturdy looking, however its not going to stop a diesel truck if it kisses a stump or rock. I'm hoping it won'tbreak off with my lift and tires.

Hi all! First post here - sorry I didn't properly introduce myself yet.

Where can I get one of these? I really like this idea.

I looked at my drain plug real good and considered the type of wheeling that I do, felt that it would not be a problem. It might however be a good idea to toss the old one in the glovebox just in case...
