Default finger touch oil drain valve

Any of you guys have these from Geno's? Any problems? I like the idea, but worry about accidental opening draining the pan. Thoughts?

I think there are a few guys running it, I've wondered the same, also afraid of it hitting something. Then, not only will the oil drain out but not you have no way to unscrew it. Hopefully someone will let us know.

I have it and I love it.

If you look at the pics below, you'll see that it's impossible for it to open on it's own. You hafta push the lever out and down at the same time to open it up.

Also, you'll see that it doesn't stick down far at all. In fact, it still sits higher than the front axle. I don't spend 1 second worrying about tearing it off at all. I suppose if you did a ton of heavy off roading you might want to consider it, however I still think that if you wacked it that you'd dent the pan before you ripped it off based solely on the size of the thread that you thread in.

Here's the pics ... you decide. Any questions, feel free to ask.

mayfair, when you open the valve to start draining the oil does the oil "spray " all over like taking the plug out or straight into the jug without a big mess? Thanks for posting the pics.

In the one picture that you see above you see that I have a small black hose on the nipple. The hose is really only about 2" long, just long enough for it to fit into the jug. Before I open the valve, I push that hose on and put a jug underneath. Once I open the valve, because the nipple is smaller than the big ole hole that's in the pan, the oil takes about a minute or so to fill the jug, so it's not really a fast paced job at all. Once the first jug fills ( which you can see from the oudside as most oil jugs have a small clear window on the side ... look at the pic again ) I close the valve, slide a new jug under it, and open it up again.

It's literally the best 25 bucks I've spent on my Ram.

I have run a Fumoto valve for years and never had any problem.

A simple product that encourages you to change the oil more often
because it is now a lot easier
is in my opinion a desirable product.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to add it to my Geno's order with my filters.
