Default RE: My good deed for the day...

Splicer has it... push is short for drilling rig manager/tool push,or ona service rig which does the completion of the well be it gas or oil. He is the one who is responsible for setting down hole tools like making sure the perforating gun is set where it should be. A tool push or drilling rig manager has to be good with numbers as does the service rig guy. To become one? I really don't understand why one would want to be? They all start at the bottom, its long and dirtyhard hours. Put your time in and if you get on a rig that has a good or decent push he'll let you move up, most guys are protective of their jobs (scared somebody might be better then they are) its dog eat dog. Around these parts most rigs are drilling during the winter months, so one has to like working in the cold! Also these rigs are usually in remote access areas where the crews either travel abck and forth to small towns in motels/hotels or your in a camp and if your lucky it might just have a good cook! Been in a few camps, where even the dog turns up its nose to the garbage your suppose to call food!

Mayfair, he really did a number on it, so much so that it was completely useless!! I would have used some 3/8" tubing but the piece i had was pretty dirty, been laying in the box for awhile.
