I couldnt remember exactly when EGR's were put onto the engines. . .I guess that started up with Cummins changed the designations from N14 to ISX and so on.

Reminds me of that 8.3 cummins that the overhead came in a cardboard box on the passenger seat of the truck. #3 cam bearing welded itself to the cam, stopped the cam shearing the cam gear keyway. The cam gear then weled itself to the cam, broke the cam bearing loose of the block and the engine proceeded to run with the cam 70 degrees out.

Didn't run at all, came in on a hook. Sorta like the truck that came in about 3 months ago on a hook. Said it had an engine miss, I lifted the hood up to find #2 rod laying on the frame rail, Well there's your problem!!!
