The problem I'm having with Dodges right now...

I just did an Autotrader search in a 300 mile radius to see what came up (searching Dodge 2500, diesel, 4WD, manual tranny, max $15,000) and I got 14 results (which is pretty sad for a 300 mile radius)

Anyway, of these 14 trucks, 8 of them are $14000-15000. 5 of those 8 are '95-98 trucks priced in that range.

That is way too expensive for a truck that old, diesel or not.

I also just don't know how far I can really go to actually GET a truck. Going even 100 miles to look at a truck is a pain (since I'd have to be driven there in case I bought it), and I'd really hate to go some long ways to look at something and have it be not what i want. I dunno.

DO NOT BUY!
Come west if you are really having that hard of a time finding a diesel. A 97-98 12V out here in Utah is going for anywhere between $3,000 to $13,000 depending on condition. Try this link and see what I mean.

http://www.ksl.com/index.php?sid=&ni...3&tab=list

In Utah, everybody uses ksl.com for classifieds, and the first one up when I searched was a 97with new ball joints, rod ends, clutch, transmission, steering box..... 11,700. I tell you that out here the truck you are describing would never go for more than $5,000.

The problem with that particular truck is that it's a quad cab with a 12V.

The guy is so hung up on the fact that less than 500 of them were made, he won't sell the truck for a fair price. As I already stated.

Broaden your search area, if you find the one you want for a good price, buy yourself a one way airline ticket and fly in and buy it. If you get a good enough deal what is a couple hundred bucks to fly?

Still having probs huh.
Listen here chief , take your time save some money and buy what you want
We'restartin thefall season and in ohio that means harvest time is coming.
When farmers start harvesting that means money is moving
keep your head up and keep looking, there 'll be some trade-ins real soon.
Oh yeah one more thing if a dealer wants to sell a truck , they'll deliver it.
Good luck and happy hunting.
