O-Rings?
K i was at work today and was talking to a guy about my return valve problem. Another guy heard the conversation and suggested trying to replace the o-rings on the return valve? I was like yeah since water probably did cause the problem. Think it's possible before I start tearing into it? Also I'd have to find o-rings to fit and I haven't seen the "O-Ring replacement kit for your return valve on the truck you screwed up!!!" at the local parts store lately so.... Gues I could go to a salvage yard and pull one possibly if I could find one that had an 03-04 dodge diesel. Hmmm....
Well I was curious to see if Drew had any clue if that was possible on the fuel rail return valve. To replace the o rings since it might be possible that the o-rings arent' sealing right due to the fact that they're cut from small amount of water that got past the filter and so anytime pressure goes up and the engine is warmed up (since things expand when things are warm) that the seals just can't retain the pressure?
You can purchase O-rings at any industrial supply house. The trick will be finding the right material that will not deteriorate in diesel fuel. As far as that being the cause of your troubles I can't say. Rebuilding something put together with O-rings should not be hard.
Well drew thought of this valve I was leaning towards lift pump (which is on the list of being replaced) and injector pump. But anyways. As your driving my truck around cold. It has power and such. But as it warms up and hits operating temperature. I loose massive amounts of power. Idles fine, Starts good. Just looses power like lack of fuel. So drew told me a cheap and easy way to check it. Checked it seemed to be at least part of the problem so now i'm going to replace it and see what it fixes.
