Default Woo hoo its here

Ya'll are a bad influence. After months and months of hearing about performance this and enhancement that, the bug bit me. I broke down and found a nice little TST PowerMax (R49model ) to add to my truck. I figured it was safe (r?) now that I have a full set of gauges...

Unfortunately, I have to wait till the friday to put it in and play. [&o] ..sniff...

Any recommendation from those of ya'll that have one? (Drew, Steve?)

Double check this but, I thought someone said there are some issues with the TST box and '06 trucks. I'm not sure which box of theirs but one of them.

I did check on that . My 06 was actually built in Nov '05. It was the mid '06 06's that started having troubles.

I'm not sure of any mods you have but, you have to be careful about draining your rail with the TST. It likes to fuel ! I would definitely start on the low settings and work your way up. You may not be able to go too far past 2/2 or 3/3 before you see your rail pressure dropping to far.

Watch the timing too. You probably shouldn't run it too high... 12 degrees is all I ever went and only when looking for power. That will make it smoke a lot too.

Man I wish I was able to use it still. I was luck that it worked period because of my trucks build date but, because of the problems with it I sent it back. I sure hope they get it worked out, it's a killer box !

The words pot, kettle, black come to mind...

Triton,
I'm gonna be real careful. I can't afford to play past 4/4 at the moment..

I wouldnt go past 3/3 w/o tranny upgrades... as for the rail dropping, I've had mine up to 5/5 with only about a 2k drop in rail pressure (which was turned up too btw)... It's funny I can tell when the fuel filter is overdue... rail pressure drops easily, drop in a new filter and the drop is minimal... night & day.

Just ask Mayfair about how bad an influence we all are. He swore he'd never upgrade power and now he's got an Edge. [sm=badbadbad.gif]

I run mine on 4/3 on a daily basis and still average in the 18's for fuel mileage. but then again the stick can handle the increased power a little better than the auto.

my TST is great, however, below 1500rpm it lacks the punch you get when you have the rpm's at say. . .2K.(slipping the clutch usualy solves that problem)

Hey Drew... upgrade your box and you'll have the rail pressure adjustment which will fix the low end as much as you want. I run mine on 1 for the most part, 2 & 3 are fun.
