ur friends lucky he didn't get charges pressed against himself. in all honesty he prolly should have no need to whail on a guy for one hour then call the cops. Granted i'd of done the same thing i'm just saying ur buddy was lucky. but he did a damn good job on that boy.

I guess he's lucky that the bad guy didn't try to mess with his truck. Then he might have had to hurt him.

I'm not saying that I wouldn't have beat the ehll outta the guy too but it's just like you can get in a lot of trouble for shooting a burglar in ur own house as well. it all comes down to was it needed or not. which the sad thing is then it basically all goes to one dude who either says yea it was justified or no it wasn't. kinda sad all this justice system and a guy who shoots a home invador ends up doing more time than teh burglar would have.

Glad the burglar got what he deserved, but reading the comments by others made more stupid.

I agree Ben, bunch of BS. I took a class for my CC permit, in this class the instructor gave some advise. If you are confronted in you own home and the perp is trying to get away you have to let him do so. Now if he is posing a threat to you or your family then that is another matter. The best thing you can do is call 911 "If you can" then warn him to back off, if he wont then you can let him have it. Meanwhile the entire thing has been recorded on the 911 call. That is some solid backup to have on your side. Personally I think this guy got what he deserved at the very least.

I agree, only in self defense should a fight or gun come into play when something like this happens.
If you don't feel like your in danger and he's just trying to escape let him go.
There's no need for giving the guy a chance to press charges on you.
Not to long ago there was a guy on the news who was sueing a home owner for shooting him.
He wasn't sueing just because he was shot, he was sueing because the home owner used hollow-points and they really screwed the
robber up. He said it was cruel and not-humane.
Think before ya act guys, cause lowlifes will do anything to take money from you one way or another.
