changed rear diff...
ok guys. I got the gumption up and changed the rear diff oil.
I HATE GEAR OIL!!! [:@]
was cleanin off the diff cover and the paint was flaky. ended up usin a power washer to remove all of the paint and put a new color on. it was black from the factory. now its blue!
the oil that came out was blacker than black and sludgy too.
not sure if its a dana 60 or 70 diff. but it holds 3 or just over quarts of oil.
you should have seen the sunset....

RE: changed rear diff...
Please explain to us how you did it, what size wrench did you use?...was it a socket or an end wrench? What brand tools did you use, and did you clean them when you were done or just throw them back into the tool box?
Im sorry guys...I couldnt resist...dont hate me

RE: changed rear diff...
I used a gator socket through and through.
you know, those one size fits all up to 3/4" sockets with the little fingers in it...
the power washer was a blast!
Iwas writin my middle girls name on the drive way with it! washed the raingutter down to the neighbors house (with all the debris and oils in it)
the rtv is direct from Dodge. quick dry too!
tools were cleaned off with these nifty handy wipes sold at GRAY BAR Electric supply.
they remove dirt, greese, and oils while leaving your hands nice and soft..just like lilfrogger prefers [sm=lol.gif]
spilled gear oil when filling the 1 quart bottle with the gallon jug..[:@]
dont have a pump, so I tipped the smaller of the 2 containers at hand.
broke my dang 3 ton rolling jack too. that was earlier when I changed my front shocks...
