Jump up to the 3rd gen section. A lot of the guys up there have done it.
From what I've seen (I keep thinking about doing it but I'm just not sure) spray the badges w/ 3M remover, let it soak in then run fishing line behind. More 3M remover and bing bang boom there all gone.
the badges need to warm up. fishing line behind em. then wd40, or some other oil based cleaner to remove any residue. you want oil based so it doesnt eat the paint.
Sorry busy weekend. The best way I found (done a few cars) get heat gun if not available a hair dryer. Heat the badge so that the adhesive is nice and gooey "I hope thats a word" then a plastic paint scraper will get teh majority of the adhesive off. from tehre I found teh cheapest and dare I say best stuff to use is castrol degeaser in the purple bottle. a few rags and you are in business. make sure you wash the truck after and a nice coat of wax or sealer or anything you use does not hurt.. Of course final step is take plenty of pictures.
took my stock ones off, and then after I put on the 3rd gens took them off too, both times used a heat gun, and fishing line. Then for the extra junk used a drill with a drill bit eraiser. Worked Great!
