Default Amsoil & Limited Slip

The rear end on my truck has a metal sticker stuck to it that says to use limited slip additive. Amsoil does not make a limited slip additive and I want to convert the rear end over to Amsoil. Can I use the stuff that you buy at the local parts store? Also I do a lot of heavy towing, but 75w-140 seems a little heavy to me, especially in the winter. Anyone else using the 75w-140?

Default RE: Amsoil & Limited Slip

you can get the 75w-120 and that should help with being a bit thicker for towing, but not too thick for the winter.

as far as the limited slip addative, yea, the friction modifyer you get from autozone will be fine.

NOTE: 3rd gen guys with AAM axels dont need friction modifyer, only the 1st and 2nd gen guys with the Dana axels do.

that is just incase someone comes in and asks
