now i pretty much camp out with my vehicle
The only thing that is ever done to my truck by some one else (dealer) is oil changes (for now), and I definitely go back in the shop and watch them do it. I hate other people being in my truck and touching it and stuff, so I make sure I keep an I on them.

I understand you being mad but you got one helluva a deal on that truck at 4k bux. even if it takes 5k worth of money to get it going ur still way ahead of the game in fair condition ur truck is worth 15k and i'm assuming that it's in good shape body wise and paint so once the engine is up and good it's more like good which is 16.5k so you're still ahead of the game.
This is probably true, but it may be more than what he though he was gonna be paying or more than what he can/wants to be paying for a truck right now.

well kinda have to realize that if ur buying a truck for 4k that is kBB at 16k in fair thne think about it it's gonna have issues. I bought my 97 jeep tj for 6k bux with 75k on it I expected to put around 1500 in repairs in it to keep it running each year. so far i've spent 500 dollars on repairs other than oil changes and routine maintence stuff which I do myself and same with most of the repairs. so I made out ahead but you've gotta plan these things when buying used. tell the truth I don't think i personally woulda bought the truck i mean even with a bum computer still 12k less than what it is worth raises eyebrows IMO.

I bought the truck in Jan, picked it up from the service department in Feb, let it sit at the office until June when I had the service body mounted. In July, I began running the truck down the road because my 97 1500 Ram lost its ability to cool and the Diesel was almost ready to run. So in I went.

Spent the morning at the dealership, they went out of their way to make everything right. We put the truck on the lift and inspected it, I showed them why I felt it was a old pup, they showed me why they felt is was new. During the time I was there the Service manager had me in his office and we talked. I did not know that the tech had grapped the handfull of parts I had in the truck and began working on it. I have had a terrible front main leak that has been driving me crazy, and 2 leaky power steering hoses that needed replaced. I bought the items from Dodgeparts.com and had them in the truck. When the service manager and I had finished talking, he took me to lunch, when I cam back all of the new parts were on the truck (including an oil change and they even put on my new oil change valve from Geno's) the Manager handed me the keys and told me that he was sorry about what had happened and my truck was done. When I inspected it, they washed it, vacuumed it out, powerwashed the under side of the engine, fixed all of my leaks. During the time we were talking I began to doubt what I had thought about the pump since there was no rust on the cast parts, and the orignals are black from the factory. The only part I had left to fall back on was the groove in the drive gear. Am I sure I was right, not any more, but they went out of their way to ger it done for me and did not charge me for the repairs or the oil change.

The best part is that they also set up an appointment to meet with the owner about the purchase of new paint booths. I was really surprised when I left, and although there are many dealers between me and them, I would probably go out of my way to use them again.

They really made up for what may have been my own mistakes.
