oil pan gasket question

Default oil pan gasket question

just wondering replacing the oil pan gasket on an 02 24valve 5.9 does this involve pulling the engine out or is it a really simple job somone told me u have to pull the engine ou to get to it b/c of the crossmember???

once unbolted it should just slide/wiggle right out

If it's like my 05, I needed to unbolt the engine and trans/transfer case mount boltsand lift them as high as the body would let me then unbolt the pan (32 bolts)and at the same time unbolt the oil pick up tube ( 4 bolts I think). On mine, I had to take the pick up tube off with the pan because they made the friggin crossmember so close. It's tight but can be done with a few choice words.
