regular X-rays your laying on a table or something and they take a picture with your foot on the table, not holding any weight..
a weigth bearing would be where you're standing on your foot and they take an X-ray then. when I was at benning having my foot/ankle checked they automatically did a weight bearing X-Ray, but when I first sprained my ankle, the local hospital did a non-weight bearing. so, depends on the hospital

The reason they missed my break when I was sitting down is because it was such a clean hair-line. When I put weight on it the end of the bone would open up a bit and that was what was causing all the pain. They couldn't see it until I stood up.
