Jette TDI stick. My parents had one and they got 51 mpg. They bought a new one in the auto and are getting 40'ish around town.

Yeah my mom has an 03 Jetta TDI, nice car and 45 mpg. That would definitely be what I would go for, hybrids are a joke IMO.

OK looks like I will be changing jobs and loosing my company ride. I am looking for a mid size car with good gas mileage, I have looked at the Camery Hybrid but i was told that the maintenance on them is through the roof. Has anyone heard anything about these cars or an alternative with good MPG
I personally like the Yaris and the Mazda speed 3 for economy. or you can get the avenger with the lifetime powertrain waruntee
Got a friend witha Diesel VW (06). Drives from Atl to Savannah every week and gets on average 45-50 mpg. I like hybrids myself but you can't beat that, and its a diesel. They are also make mods for 'em.

Both my parents have '06 TDI Jettas. 41 mpg 90% highway. Only problem they have is finding time to change the oil. They love them.
