Default diesel cap

Yesterday I was diving my truck and i heard a beep and looked down and the check engine light came on and before I could even react, the truck died and would not restart. The tow truck picked me up and dropped me a the Dodge dealship but since it was Saturday morning, no service dept was available.

When I checked it in with the salesmen there, they asked if i had filled with diesel recently. I told them i had just filled up about 4 miles back. They suggested I had not tightened the diesal cap properly and that there was contact that senssed if the cap was not on tight and would shut the engine down and would stay that way until the service dept hooked up and resets it. When we wlked out to the truck to check, the cap was tight as I always listen for about 2 or 3 clicks to tighten.

Opinions or is what they are saying correct?

Did it throw any codes? Isn't there one about Emmissions or something like that happens when the cap isn't tight?

A loose fuel cap will not shut the engine off, it can set a code that turns on the malfunction indicator light.

Well the dealership is now telling me that at least one enjector is bad. They say it is hung open and that it could have been caused by a bad diesel.

They are going to replace all the enjectors. This is my first Dodge so i hope it's not a sign of things to come...[sm=smiley5.gif]
