Default Accidential Panic Botton Hit

Hey guys, Been away for awhile, but I've been wondering...........Has anyone had a problem with accidentially hitting the panic button on our ignition keys while turning off the engine. As hard as I try, and when the most Un-oppertune time is present , I accidentially set the damn thing off. Once in the early morning at a KOA campground, or at a resteraunt, and then recently at the deer camp. What a pain this is.....just wondering if this can be de-activated? I'm over the embarassment now, so just fire away.......any comments?

I set mine off by manually unlocking and then opening my doors at 3AM in a motel. then I hit the panic button to turn it off and it didn't work, tried starting the engine and it turned off the alarm from opening the doors but by that time I had the panic button pressed. It took me a while to figure that out.

Do you have the remote that is built into the key or the one that is seperate from the key?

06 and up are built in to the key.

sounds like a design issue with the key... they should put the panic button on the side or top of the key where it's harder to accidently activate...

I absolutely hate the damn buttons on the key. I wish Dodge would put them back on a separate fob like before.

They put buttons on the key's themselves now? What a PITA !!! Can you still have new keys made, or is that now a "dealer item" as well?

Dealer item because they have chips in them. 'Bout time we hear from Mayfair again, though you were MIA.

Actually I don't even use the fob. The problem is I don't believe you can get the key with the security chip in it for the ignition minus the fob buttons.
