The "key trick" will work on an '06. With the engine off, you turn the key to the on position (not start just run) then off and repeat till you get to the third on. Then leave it there and look at your odometer. It will have dashed lines all the way accross and then either display any codes that are present or say DONE.

 

I had my first scare the other day. I got in my truck and cranked it but nothing happened after cranking far longer than usual. I stopped and tried again and she fired up and the CEL came on for the rest of the day but eventually went off.

 

thats some rough luck man. sorry to hear about that. at least you knew how to fix it right there on the side of the road. i probably would have been sol.

 

well. . .I figured if I could get an M1A1 back up and running with a paper clip, 550 cord, and a swift hit with a 20lb sledge, my truck shouldnt much harder
