Default breaking in new boots tomorrow...

heading out to the 5 lakes basin (at least thats the current plan... may change on the way up there). Should be able to put 12 miles on them by the end of the day. Man I sure hope Louie can hang, he hasnt gone that far in a.... oops, he's never gone that far... 9 miles is his max to date...

Mt Whitney is this weekend... Might be leaving Friday night to go find a campsite in the upper altitudes (greater than 7~8k if I can) to help get aclimated before sundays hike. ooooo cant wait!

yup, have plenty of molesikn and tools to cut it up with. Louie's going to love it... at the trailhead... Carr Lake, 100 yards later Feely Lake, 1/3 mile later good sized pond (un-named), 1/4 mile later another bigger pond... then Island lake... all within 1 mile of the trailhead... after that the lakes are off the beaten path all the way back to the 5 lakes basin area

nope, looking to go 1 of 2 routes... either 50 to mormon emigrant gap to 88 to 395 or 99 to 108 to 395. Havent decided yet. also may be leaving tomorrow for the extra night in the back country. hard to resist. I did my last heavy leg workout this morning in preparation for sundays hike. I think I'm ready, was easily able to push 10 plates on the leg press, something I couldnt do after the Clouds Rest hike...

anyways... I'm off... I'll post pics later tonight of todays hike.
