Default diff service...

never replaced the fluid in my diffs, but have only had the truck a year. what fluid do I use, how much, and what millage should i replace it at. I have 108,000 on the truck but who knows if it has ever been done?

a good synthetic 80-90 GL5will work. you also need to find out if you have a limited slip. if you do you will need some friction modifier.

you will need 10 pints for the rear and 7.8 pints for the front. (just remember 2 pints to the quart so 8 quarts will be good and leave you with a little extra)

I believe you need 8oz of friction modifier then. pour that in first then top off with 80-90.

I have to question Drew's math on this.... 10+7.8 = 17.8 / 2 = 8.9 So, I'm thinking that 8 qts won't be quite enough....
