Please help on Tire choice
Hi, I am a Newbie with an 08 QC 6.7, and have a question, I am thinking of a leveling kit for the front and 35" Toyo (12.5 x 17 stock wheels). I have 2 friends with these tires and they Look GREAT and are supposed to be a strong tire. Do you think this is a good choice of tire? And will it kill my mileage? I am looking at a 5th wheel toy hauler in a few months, I drive about 60 miles to camp and ride ATV's. I don't plan on any real long, cross country trips. Any input would be appreciated.

Hi Grant.
Those are great tires. I personally like the pro comp xtreme all terrains and the x terrains. of course the toyos are up there with my consideration as well. right now I have the bfg all terrain ko's and I am not fond of them at all. but that is just my opinion. a lot of good reviews have came from teh cooper discovery tires as well.

welcome to DF...
ditton on the pro comp xtreme at's, I personally have 52k on a set I got used (2 weeks old), they are still holding up strong and have never left me stuck on snow, shallow mud, or the limited sand I've been in...

Welcome Grant,
Those tires are great tires a little high price wise but you will get what you pay for. I have he MT MTZ, but my dad has a set of Yoyo M/T on his truck they ride and look great should give decent mileage, my dad only has about 10000 on his right now and seem to bewearing good. Good Luck.

You should do whatever puts a smile on your face (within reason). From what I hear the Toyos are a great tire. I personally have the BFGs; I expected worse noise than they make so can't complain. The ride changed a bit though, a bit more boucy... The wheels and tires I really wanted were the Rickson 19.5" powdercoated steel wheels with their 265 Michelins but maybe when there isn't a 3 month wait to get a hold of them I'll reconsider. You should be good to go with the Toyos and a 5th wheel trailer, as long as the trailer is tall enough... I probably wouldn't haul a camper on these tires... maybe it would be fine I'd be worried about stability, dunno.
Thanks all for your ideas and time to respond. It sounds like I am on the right track looking at the 35 Toyo's. Les schwab has them here in Oregon in stock so I might drop it off SOON and have them installed, i'll take a picture and post it when I do, ---Total cost is $1,651, including the front leveling kit and front end aligment, and out the door. Seems like a decent price. Thanks again,
Grant

HMM I'm not sure, I didn't know there was 2 different Toyo 35's, but I do know there is some tread that comes down the sidewall of the tire a little ways. Oh, i see on the quote it says: 35/1250R-17/10 125Q open country M/T traction blackwall.
I think for my next set I am going to try the Toyo's open country M/T. I think they look awesome. They are a little spendy, but everything I've read to this point has been nothing but praise.I have a while until my bf g's run out, so I'm saving for rims/ level kit and 2" block for the rear and run 315's.
