Default Odometer questions?

I just noticed this morning on the way to work that my cluster odometer and overhead computer odometer do not match up. They are off by nearly 1200 miles. I know I should trust the cluster odo, but why in the world would they not match? The overhead computer is low by about 1200 miles like I said. For ****s and giggles I decided to switch the overhead over to km/h to see what that said and it just read 9999????? Can anyone enlighten me?

the overhead is resetable. . .the dash is not. I normaly use the overhead to track my mileage between fill-ups.

If you have a programmer....I have seen programmers change mileage on overhead to look as if you are getting better milage.

I reset my trip odo in the cluster and the overhead at each fill up. I have noticed once or twice that there was a couple teths difference between the two. Not all the time just sometimes. I think the overhead console is screwy at best.
